6 hours in an examination room. The last hour was spent in sweltering heat as there was a load-shedding.  Now I don't whine about the heat but I've been an a.c. guy through and through. My school had a.c. classrooms which used to stink post-break but kept us cool. I can't live without the a.c. in my house or any other houses I may be in. I tried being tough and not use the a.c. as much as I do but I'm pampered, spoilt, and the equivalent of a british silly nanny. Back to where I was, there I was trying to finish my examination, sweat dripping down me as if I had just gotten out of a shower with my clothes on, cursing the institution in my head while stepping up a few notches of speed in order to be done with it and run away from there as fast as possible. When I did finish, I ran, hailed a cab and went home, thanking all the gods that I got out of there alive.
I reached home and whatddya know? It's load-shedding here as well! I panicked. For a moment, I thought that this was it. I called up Saturday club, they were out of current as well. It was a good 40 bucks from my exam center to my house and if both the places were out of electricity, could it mean that this was the beginning of the end? The apocalypse? The heralding of the four-horsemen? Was this it?
That was the thought that went through my mind. Maybe the infinite council has decided that this was the end. Then I began to rationalize things.
See, no matter how powerful or all-knowing the infinite council is, it cannot match the perseverance of our bengali engineers. If there was a Kolkata Knight Riders match tonight at 8 o' clock, then hell or high waters will not stop these great (but pathologically lazy) minds from joining forces to make sure that the show must go on no matter what. And that things get restored.
I was right. The power came back in less than an hour.
The apocalypse can wait another day. Maybe they'll reign it themselves when Ganguly quits. We saw it before, A second coming maybe?
Some interesting ads I came across while I was studying last night.
Remember these?
OandM won an award for this at the cannes.

this is one of the cutest ad ever!
I came across this and I remembered singing this jingle so often when I was muuuuuch younger. I'd idealize the girl as well. The girl who is walking on the road.
